Stephen King’s THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON is Bound for the Big Screen
August 21, 2019The list is small for yet-to-be-adapted Stephen King novels, but in a decade that has not only seen many of his films based on his books rebooted, a new one is bound for the silver screen in The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
The book follows a 9-year-old Trisha McFarland, who strays from the path while hiking with her mother and brother on the Appalachian Trail. Lost for days, as she wanders farther astray, she only has her portable radio for comfort, of which she tunes in to Boston Red Sox games because of her fandom of reliever Tom Gordon. She is beginning to suffer from hunger and dehydration, while suffering hallucinations, meanwhile, something mysterious and dangerous is tracking her through the dark woods.
The recently-deceased George A. Romero was previously tabbed to helm the project, but has since been spearheaded by his wife, Chris Romero, who will team with Roy Lee, Jon Berg and Ryan Silbert on the project.
No news yet as to a cast or when production will begin, but you should definitely give this book a read before the film drops!
