What better way to attempt to thwart some ‘meddling kids’ than by rocking these awesome masks from the iconic animated series, which launched a Hanna-Barbara phenomenon almost 50-years ago? Whether you are trying to scare off land developers, keep realtors away from your ‘haunted’ castle or just a bored oldtimer, these masks are sure to bring back all the feels!
First up, the Wolfman, which was the disguise of Bucky Tanner in the episode, Scooby-Doo! and the Howling Wolfman. This beautiful mask, crafted by Kyle Glencross, captures it all, per the fangs, fur and a fearsome scowl.
In an age when killer clowns reign supreme and Coulrophobics are a dime a dozen, the Ghost Clown proves its relevancy as a huge inspiration for all the clown scares today! From its yellow eyes and unsettling giant pink lips, it is sure to instill fear in even the most-gruesome carnie. This mask comes courtesy of sculptor Russ Lukich.
Next up, from the episode, Scooby-Doo! and Foul Play in Funland, is Charlie the Robot, a Chris Williams creation. Zoinks! This actual and infamous robot, created by Mr. Jenkins, has all the gears to create the fears! In this new technologically-advanced world, one can appreciate the hardware behind this mask.
The gang encounters the Big Bad Werewolf while on a camping trip in the episode, Scooby-Doo! and Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Werewolf?. From the glowing red eyes to the razor sharp teeth, this classic mug is quite the delight for hanging out in any seemingly-abandoned mill. This mask was adapted by artist and character designer, Jasper Anderson.
From Scooby-Doo! and Nowhere to Hyde, the ghost of Mr. Hyde is sure to creep out any trick-or-treater. With its villainous smile and beady eyes, equipped with a fisherman’s cap, you will be robbing jewelry stores in no time! This mask is yet another awesome creation from Glencross.
Finally, from character designer Justin Mabry, in a mask that eerily resembles Frankenstein‘s monster, The Creeper! This was Mr. Carswell, a bank president, in disguise. He first appeared in the episode, Scooby-Doo! and Jeepers, It’s the Creeper.
What other famous villains from the original series would you like to see adapted? Maybe, the Witch Doctor, Space Kook or Mummy Of Ankha? Let us know in the comments below!
