New Iron Studios Statues Spotlight BATMAN Villains, Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze
July 3, 2020The two newest additions to the DC Comics Art Scale 1/10 – Series 5 statues line, courtesy of Iron Studios, are none other than two famous Batman baddies in Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze, constructed in 1/10 scale by legendary artist Ivan Reis.
That’s right, these limited edition statues are ‘Straight Outta Arkham‘, hand painted and made from polystone. The Poison Ivy statue features the titular character adjourned with botanical creations twisting upward along her vine and plant-encrusted base, while Mr. Freeze comes equipped with his patented freeze ray, on a base of metal and ice.
Since her first appearance in Batman #181, the eco-terrorist, Poison Ivy, has served as one of the greatest antagonists to the Dark Knight. The statue captures her classic look, beautifully, from her flowing red hair, to her iconic scaled green outfit.
Mr. Freeze first made his appearance as Mr. Zero in Batman #121, since then the character has had many iterations. It wasn’t until he made his debut on Batman: The Animated Series that his look and popularity would cement itself. Though his mission has always been the same, find a way to bring his wife, who is seemingly forever confined to her icy coffin, back to life. If there is one character in which ol’ Bats can relate to, it’s him.
The Mr. Freeze statue arrives just in time for Christmas on Dec. 20, 2020, and will retail for $119.99, followed by the release of Poison Ivy on June 20, 2021, for slightly more, at $139.99. Preorders for both statues are open now.
