The CW Reviving Gothic Soap Opera, DARK SHADOWS

The upcoming adaptation of Dark Shadows will be called, Dark Shadows: Reincarnation, which has been ordered at The CW.

The franchise follows an extremely rich Collins family, who live in a town of the same name, Collinsport, Maine, and is tormented by strange occurrences, especially when a long-lost family member shows up, who is also a vampire.

The upcoming series will serve as a sequel to the original Dark Shadows television show, which ran for five years, from 1966-71. The film has since been adapted numerous times, including a 1991 revival for television, which lasted just one season, a 2005 pilot, which was never picked up, and as a 2012 film, starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton.
