Netflix Makes McG’s THE BABYSITTER Sequel Official, Announces Cast
September 25, 2019It was announced back in August that Netflix gave the green light to a sequel for The Babysitter, but now it is official as more is known about the upcoming film, which will also return director McG.
The Babysitter released in 2017 and followed 12-year-old Cole (Judah Lewis), who has a crush on his babysitter, Bee, played by Samara Weaving. He attempts to foil her plans of sacrificing him, upon learning she is the leader in a satanic cult, that included her friends and fellow members, Robbie Amell, Bella Thorne, Hana Mae Lee and Andrew Bachelor.
Spoiler Alert: The latter group listed all die in the first film, so with all of them marked as returning, it will be interesting to see how they fit into the timeline.
That said, the sequel, which also stars Natalie Alyn Lind, Ken Marino, Leslie Bibb, Carl McDowell and Chris Wylde, will pick up two years after the events in which young Cole defeated the satanic cult, but now must survive high school. What goes around, comes around, as evil once again rears its ugly head and he will have to once again outsmart dark forces.
Production begins on October 14, 2019, with eyes set for a 2020 launch.
