NYCC 2019: Three ALIENATED Teens Come Across a Powerful Secret
October 4, 2019As announced at New York Comic Con, a new series from writer Simon Spurrier and artist Chris Wildgoose, at Boom! Studios, is coming in 2020, called, Alienated.
The coming-of-age story focuses on having all the power in the world, but being unready to wield it. It centers on three teenagers, each an outcast in their own right, who stumble upon an entity in its infancy. As they all bond over their shared secret, it becomes clear that their ‘little friend’ is actually a predator in the making. Soon, their collective intentions become corrupted by desire, fueled by jealousy and rivalries, start to spiral down a catastrophic spiral of their own making.
“This is a dream team project for me. I’ve been hoping I would have the chance to work with Simon Spurrier and Eric Harburn for years and, finally, our paths have aligned. I am so looking forward to seeing what people think of Alienated,” said Wildgoose. “We have some fresh approaches to tell the story of these three outcast teenagers who are pulled together by the unpredictable power of an alien force. I think it’s a story that will pull on your heartstrings and make you laugh, with a nice bit of cosmic horror thrown in for good measure—all wrapped in a high school drama. It’s quite the mix!”
Alienated #1 goes on sale in February of 2020.
