An all-star creative Boom! Studios team of Arash Amel, Joseph Oxford, Lee Toland Krieger, Clay McLeod Chapman and Jakub Rebelka is set to present a stunning view of a future in which humanity’s last hope was also its destruction in an original graphic novel called, Origins.

The book will take place 1,000 years after humans have gone extinct in being replaced by artificial intelligence. However, a single man is brought back to life, David Adams, who is responsible for having created the technology that destroyed all human life. The android who revived him seeks to have Adams reignite the spark of humanity and stop the A.I. overlords who plan to eliminate all of mankind, permanently. Adams will now seek redemption for his biggest mistake and come to realize if humanity can – or should – have any kind of future.

Origins is biopunk science-fiction that explores what happens to our planet in a post-human world, and the impact on Mother Nature, of the tech our disappearance will eventually leave behind,” said Amel. “In the spirit of my favorite classics, it is an exploration of human hubris and folly, and large-scale world building, only truly possible in a graphic novel. I’m excited to be working with BOOM! Studios again after our previous collaboration.”

Origins is currently slated to go on sale in October of 2020.
