Sam Raimi Eyed to Direct DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS
February 6, 2020 Off By Haven HuthThe upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has possibly landed its next director in Sam Raimi.
Raimi steps in after Scott Derrickson and the studio parted ways because of creative differences. If the next Doctor Strange film is really going to be a horror flick, who better to select than the director behind such classics as, Evil Dead, Drag Me To Hell and, most-recently, Crawl?
The film would mark a return of sorts for Raimi to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having previously helmed the Spider-Man trilogy, which starred Tobey Maguire as the titular character. Spider-Man 2 had previously been regarded as one of the best superhero films of all time, though the third installment was widely considered a universal flop.
This news does beg the question, however, will Bruce Campbell be making a ‘groovy’ debut to the MCU? We will just have to wait and see.
Not much is still known about the film, other than that Rachael McAdams will not be reprising her role as Christine Palmer. Nevertheless, besides the laundry list of speculated guest appearances, might we see the return of Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to drop in theaters on May 7, 2021.
