An upcoming film starring Jason Momoa, Sweet Girl, has been scooped up by Netflix and will launch exclusively on the streaming service.

The film will center around a devastated husband, fraught over his wife’s untimely death, who vows to bring justice to the people responsible, all while keeping his daughter safe.

Brian Andrew Mendoza will make his directorial debut, though the film will reunite him with Momoa, an actor he is familiar with, having served as producer on both Braven and Frontier.

Greg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner will pen the script, while Martin Kistler will executive produce the film.

“I’m excited to partner with Netflix once again,” said Momoa. “I’m putting a dream team together, from Brad (Peyton) and Jeff (Fierson), to my best friend, Brian, who has been my partner for over 10 years. It’s a dream come true to collaborate with him and deliver his vision.”

No news yet on the rest of the cast or when production will start, but keep it here for updates.
