A crew of a salvage vessel are not prepared to encounter unimaginable horrors in pursuit of a large payload, per a new series, Rogue Planet, from creators Cullen Bunn and Andy MacDonald, at Onipress.

The series follows the crew of the salvage ship, Cortes, in its pursuit of a wandering orphan planet, one which contains all kinds of treasure, but also equal parts danger. The planet, dubbed ‘Lonely Orphan’, promises to give the crew the kind of payday to be able to retire on, but what is protecting it all, the crew could have never imagined.

Rogue Planet is a book I’ve been working on for quite a while, a sci-fi horror story that really digs into my roots as a horror fan,” Bunn said. “I remember where I was sitting when I first wrote the title down — I was having coffee with my pal and frequent collaborator, Brian Hurtt — and I couldn’t stop thinking about the possibilities. I spent a while kicking ideas around, and I came up with a chilling notion that I absolutely loved.”

Rogue Planet #1 is slated to land on shelves on April Fool’s Day, 2020.
