The Alan Moore … NO MORE? The legendary comic book writer is retiring after over 40 years in the industry.

The eccentric genius has voiced his reservations numerous times on social media about adapting his many series for television and film, including the upcoming series at HBO, Watchmen, which actually follows 10 years after the release of the live-action film. His posts on Twitter label him far from being a fan of the project, stating “I will be spitting venom all over HBO”. The show will follow the timeline proceeding events in the original book’s storyline, with confirmed appearances by Dr. Manhattan, Ozymandias and even the original Silk Spectre!

The British native arguably, who got his start as a cartoonist, redefined the industry as a writer, having been accredited with so many influential titles, such as, V for Vendetta, Batman: The Killing Joke, Watchmen, Swamp Thing, among many others. He is the recipient of multiple Eisner Awards, a Hugo Award and holds a place in the Prometheus Hall of Fame.

His final, publicly-known work to yet be published will be The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Volume IV: The Tempest.
