WILDCATS Returning at DC Comics
July 26, 2019The creative duo of Warren Ellis and artist Ramon Villalobos will bring back WildCATs to DC Comics, continuing the 24-issue run of The Wild Storm, this summer.
The six-issue miniseries will highlight the covert black-ops team of Grifter, Savant, John Colt and Adrianna Tereshkova, as they discover a secret space program, dubbed ‘Skywatch’, has been abducting innocent people and performing experiments on them. When one of those ‘experiments’ breaks out, revealing a new threat that no one was prepared for, the stakes are high.
“The first line I wrote down for WildCATs was, ‘Saving the human race from the human race’,” Ellis said. “It’s a team made up of people who have seen the worst in everybody and everything, and yet still put themselves in frankly absurd amounts of jeopardy just so tomorrow might be a little bit better. And it’s a short series, so I might just kill them all. Come and see what happens. The art is great.”
UPDATE: The series, which was initially supposed to launch on August 28, has been removed by DC, to be released at a later date, possibly in winter.
