Dare to Wander Beyond the Florida Swamps in Boom! Studios Series, B.B. FREE
August 19, 2019An all-new original comic book series, B.B. Free, will drop on Boom! Studios‘ Boom! Box imprint later this year, from creators Gabby Rivera and Royal Dunlap, telling the story of, ‘The Plague That Ate Greed’.
The series will follow teenager B.B., who lives in the Florida Islands. She has limited contact with the rest of the world, outside of her radio show. She will eventually stumble upon a secret that could not only rip apart her family, but also her community as well. Knowing that there is much her father is not telling her, she will venture outside the swamp for truth.
“B.B. Free’ is the trippy, wild adventure road trip I always wanted to go on as a kid, with a post-climate-change-America twist,” said Rivera in a statement. “Chubby, nerdy, teen me daydreamed about heading out into the world with a super cool best friend and doing whatever we wanted.”
Keep an eye out for B.B. Free #1, the ‘bouncy love letter to queer kids everywhere’, to debut in comic shops, nationwide, on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
