Creators Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández are both back to launch a limited series revival of The Old Guard, in The Old Guard: Force Multiplied.

The five-issue miniseries will start a new story, but still follow the duo’s previous ongoing book, which told the story of immortal soldiers, led by Andromache of Scythia, who served as mercenaries-for-hire, but as the 21st century rolled around, it became harder to keep their secret and they began to realize that there are worse fates than death.

The graphic novel has also been adapted as a feature film, The Old Guard, which stars Charlize Theron, Kiki Layne, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Marwan Kenzari.

The Old Guard: Force Multiplied #1 (of 5) launches on Wednesday, Dec. 18, while the film, which is currently in pre-production, is slated for a 2020 release.
