Out of the Pages of Fantastic Four, DOCTOR DOOM Lands His Own Ongoing Series
September 13, 2019A new ongoing series will put Victor Von Doom front-and-center, from creators Christopher Cantwell and Salvador Larroca, in Doctor Doom.
The series centers on Von Doom, a scientist and sorcerer, who has been spending much of his time warning against a trillion-dollar effort in creating an artificial black hole. He finds himself at a crossroads. Then, he is the prime suspect in a terrorist attack, which kills thousands, pushing him to status of the world’s, Most Wanted Man, leaving him with no armies, allies or homeland.
“This may sound silly, but I’m endeavoring for a ‘street-level’ Doom story with this first arc. There are massive geopolitical implications set up at the beginning of the story, but from there, I’m stripping Doom down to his basics in order to see how he’d survive outside the bubble of his Latverian castle,” said Cantwell. “I love challenging characters to their core and this chapter for Doom is no different. Rather than tell the tale of an oligarch, I want to tell the story of the human underneath all that artifice.”
Doctor Doom #1 goes on sale, nationwide, October 9, 2019.
