Squad Goals: DC and MeTV Team for SVENGOOLIE MEETS THE DC UNIVERSE
September 19, 2019Per DC Comics, in conjunction with MeTV, creators Dan DiDio and Chris Jones have teamed up with Svengoolie on an extremely unlikely story, Svengoolie Meets the DC Universe, just in time for Halloween!
The eight-page series will come equipped as custom inserts in select October books from the publisher. Every two pages will account as one of four chapters that will complete the arc.
The limited run will tell the story of Svengoolie, who is on the run from homicidal rubber chickens, but gets some unexpected help from both Wonder Woman and John Stewart. The man responsible for the mayhem, Joker, who is trying to keep the show host from reaching the Hall of Justice to inform the rest of the Justice League of the impending threat.
Rich Koz, aka Svengoolie, is a staple in the horror industry, having put his own humorous spin on classic horror and science fiction since the 1979, via various sketches and parodies.
“This is a dream come true for someone who’s been a life-long fan of DC super-heroes since I first got into comics as a kid,” Koz said. “I couldn’t be prouder to have Svengoolie standing side-by-side with these iconic characters. I definitely identify with them, too; after all, I have to put on my costume before I can do my job, too!”
