A Robert E. Howard Creation, DARK AGNES, to Make Marvel Debut
October 26, 2019 Off By Michael StagnoAnother creation of Robert E. Howard, out of the pages of Conan the Barbarian, via creators Becky Cloonan and Luca Pizzari, comes Dark Agnes, in an all-new limited series.
The five-issue miniseries will follow Agnes de Chastillon on her journey to free herself of an arranged marriage in 16th-century France. She longs for a life as a sellsword, along with companion, Etienne Villers.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if you told me you’d never heard of Dark Agnes. Well, that’s about to change,” said Cloonan. “Agnes is the unsung anti-hero of Robert E. Howard’s legendary body of work. She’s a swashbuckling, musket-wielding, doublet-wearing badass swordswoman from the early Renaissance. A fierce warrior, a stalwart friend and a brutal, unrelenting force in a bloody, chaotic world.”
The character will make its debut this December in Conan: Serpent War.
Dark Agnes #1 (of 5) will launch the series in February of 2020.
