DC Comics Partnering with Italian Publisher on BATMAN and DYLAN DOG Comic
October 25, 2019 Off By Haven HuthTwo of the world’s greatest detectives are teaming up in Dylan Dog and Batman, in a publisher crossover of DC Comics and Sergio Bonelli Editore, pinning the paranormal snooper and Dark Knight against two of the most-ruthless villains in the multiverse, Joker and Xabaras.
The Italian series, Dylan Dog, follows the misadventures of a paranormal private investigator, created by Tiziano Sclavi. As for Xabaras, he is the ultimate evil. He is not only Dylan‘s greatest foe, but also, his dad!
The upcoming issue, Batman/Dylan Dog: Relazioni Pericolose, or ‘Dangerous Relationships’, will pin the respective hero/villain duos against each other, from creators, Roberto Recchioni (Detective Dante, John Doe), alongside both Gigi Cavenago and Werther Dell’Edera.
The book will feature alternating covers as well. The primary cover will include both Batman and Dylan Dog, while the variant cover will highlight the baddies, Joker and Xabaras.
Dylan Dog has had multiple iterations adapted for both the big- and television screens in Italy, but was first released in theaters in the U.S. in 2010, with Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, which starred Brandon Routh.
Currently, a Dylan Dog television series is en route, which is being helmed by horror master, James Wan.
The Caped Crusader will next land in theaters in 2021 in The Batman, which stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.
Batman/Dylan Dog: Relazioni Pericolose #0 goes on sale on Oct. 30, 2019, exclusively in Italy. A version in English will follow, but no release date has been set.
