George R.R. Martin’s A CLASH OF KINGS Being Adapted at Dynamite
October 2, 2019 Off By Michael StagnoThe Game of Thrones show may have ended at HBO, but the story continues at Dynamite Entertainment, with George R.R. Martin‘s A Clash of Kings, which will serve as a continuation of his previously-adapted novel to the comic medium, A Song of Fire and Ice.
The series will return writer Landy Q. Walker to adapt the novel, in conjunction with Martin, and artist Mel Rubi is also returning to draw the interiors, while Mike S. Miller has been tapped to once again do the covers as well.
The offering will pickup with the fall of Baratheon, which spurs Catelyn Stark and Brienne of Tarth to flee. Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister has settled in with Shae, his new paramour. Arya Stark is being held in Harrenhal, while other key players are moving across the board in A Game of Thrones.
“Breaking this novel down word-by-word, chapter-by-chapter, you really get a sense of how meticulously-layered the work is and how the tension between these warring families slowly spirals out of control,” said Walker. “Bringing those story beats to their climax, and having the privilege to help guide the visual interpretation of one of the most-popular fantasy series, it’s an experience beyond description. I can’t wait to share that experience with readers.”
Keep an eye out for A Clash of Kings #1 to launch the series in January, 2020.
