NYCC 2019: Donny Cates Set to ‘Drop the Hammer’ in New THOR Series
October 3, 2019Per the announcement at New York Comic Con, the God of Thunder is getting an all-new series, courtesy of creators Donny Cates and Nic Klein, Thor, which will drop to kick off the new year!
The series will follow Thor, who is now the king of Asgard, following months of war. The 10 Realms are now at peace, but the skies above the Realm Eternal are not clear for long, as The Black Winter is coming. Many questions will need to be answered, how was Odinson‘s eye heal? What happened to his golden arm? What is going on with Mjolnir and his armor? We’ll have to wait till January to get the answers we seek!
“In all my wildest dreams, I could never have imagined a world in which I was worthy of writing Thor,” Cates said. “From Stan Lee and Jack Kirby all the way to the legendary run I am so foolishly following, by the great Jason Aaron, it is beyond an honor to enter the golden halls of Asgard.”
Thor #1 will light up the shelves at your local comic shops in January. Stay tuned for an official release date!
