An all-new Werewolf by Night series is en route at Marvel, from co-writers Taboo and Benjamin Jackendoff and artist Scot Eaton, which will feature a new spin on the character in the Marvel Universe.

The upcoming series, which will also tie into the Outlawed event, will introduce a brand-new Werewolf by Night in a young man named, Jake. The story is set in Arizona as he will be dealing with the effects of a family curse, while trying to also protect his people from outside threats.

“We’re going through a Native lens because of my Native American heritage,” said Taboo. “I always liked storytelling from a native perspective. Although I was born in the city of Los Angeles, recently, I’ve been really connected to the Indian country or to native communities to be able to be a service and help native youth, inspire them, especially when it comes to health and wellness and arts and music. So, we built our partnership knowing that, when we create, we create through a native lens.”

Jackendoff previously worked on another comic series, Masters of the Sun, with Taboo‘s Black Eyed Peas bandmate, Will.I.Am, in 2017, as well.

Werewolf by Night #1 is currently slated to land on shelves in April of 2020.
