BATMAN: THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE to Serve as Extension of Animated Show

What broke out as a hit children’s cartoon will now continue in comic book form as Batman: The Animated Series, which has spawned movies, video games, toys and now, almost 30 years later, the Caped Crusader‘s exploits will be collected via a miniseries, Batman: The Adventures Continue.

The limited series comes courtesy of the original creative geniuses behind the animated series, Paul Dini, Ty Templeton, who was also the artist behind the original spinoff, Batman Adventures, and Alan Burnett.

The inspiration for the comic for the team came from the original animated series action figure line. DC Collectibles has even released tertiary figures from the show, such as, Deathstroke, The Batman Who Laughs, Azrael, and Red Hood, all done in the style of the show, despite having not been included in the original series.

In addition to some new faces, fans can also expect to see some old friends too. In fact, the first issue will pit Batman against the infamous Lex Luthor, who will be controlling a giant robot that stole an entire laboratory from Wayne Enterprises.

The print series is set to release on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, but digital versions will be available starting in April.
