Image Announces Bloody OGN, DRACULA, MOTHERF**CKERS!
March 12, 2020A new spin on a classic Bram Stoker tale is coming to Image Comics, in graphic novel form, per creators Alex de Campi and Erica Henderson, a California-set psychological thriller, Dracula, Motherf**ckers!
The book will straddle two-different timelines, following Dracula in Vienna in 1889, where his brides nail him to the bottom of his coffin, and in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1974, wherein he is opposed by an ageing starlet. A crime scene photographer, Quincy Harker, is the only man who knows the vampire’s secret, but will anyone believe him?
“Most people who know my work are aware that I love pulp/exploitation cinema, so me doing a book called Dracula, Motherf**ker shouldn’t really surprise anyone,” said de Campi. “Another thing I wanted to bring to this pulp fantasia was a sensibility from horror anime, with its love of transformation and of the noncorporeal, to push the element of man-as-monster in directions specifically suited to sequential art.”
Dracula, Motherf**ker goes on sale in comic shops on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, and in bookstores on Oct. 13.
