A Story of Family with Plenty of Monsters in New Scout Comics Series, TALYN
June 24, 2020A new series at Scout Comics will spotlight a Gothic metropolis filled with all sorts of things that ‘go bump in the night’, from creators The Brothers Harrow and Banished Shadow comes, Talyn: Seed of Darkness.
The series follows Talyn, an orphaned street fighter. She lives in the underworld of Remnant, a city full of lycans, demons and other denizen creatures, but with an underlying theme, humans are dispensable here. She finds hope, however, in her younger sister, Tessa. But when she’s abducted by an entity called, The Pale One, she must join forces with a mutated detective to find her sister and solve a supernatural mystery, which is actually part of an age-old plot.
“We loved the characters and the art style Banished created, and we took our time extracting the backstory of the characters to create an immersive, exciting and living world,” stated The Brothers Harrow. “We were inspired by the 80s and 90s anime and film noir boxing films. But we didn’t want to rely on caricatures or troupes. So instead, we put three-dimensional characters and their emotional journeys at the heart of our story. All of us also have younger siblings, so we wanted to create a story exploring the power of that relationship.”
