DC Comics Expands DEATH METAL Event in Announcing Three New Titles
June 9, 2020Readers have been eagerly-awaiting the latest from Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, Dark Nights: Death Metal! In the upcoming series, The Batman Who Laughs is bringing the Metalverse to the Multiverse and he isn’t coming alone, thanks to three brand new series from DC Comics, the story and the character list is expanding, via three, 48-page tie-in books.
First up is, Trinity Crisis. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman will battle metal versions of the Anti-Monitor, Superboy Prime and the dreaded Darkseid! The issue will be written by Snyder and is drawn by writer/artist, Francis Manapul. This one hits shelves on September 8, 2020.
Not even the Speed Force can protect the new Wally West in the second offering, Speed Metal, which arrives on Sep. 22. The Batman Who Laughs is on a hunt for the new Dr. Manhattan and it’s up to Barry Allen and Jay Garrick to stop the Darkest Knight. Current Flash writer, Joshua Williamson, is spearheading the issue, along with both Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira.
Rounding out the series of one-off books, everything will come down to Mulitverse’s End. The Multiverse has come crashing down, all in one reality. It’s up to the heroes that are left to fight on in the epic conclusion. James Tynion IV and Juan Gedeon are helming the finale, which drops on Sep. 29.
