A new multi-year partnership between Marvel Entertainment and Scholastic Entertainment will see some of the Marvel Universe‘s most-iconic characters featured in a new line of original graphic novels for young adult readers.

The series of original graphic novels, as part of Scholastic‘s Graphix Media imprint, will (officially) debut in spring of 2021 when Miles Morales: Shock Waves (A Spider-Man Graphic Novel), written by Justin A. Reynolds and illustrated by Pablo Leon, debuts on shelves. The story promises to thrill fans, both new and old, in following Morales, a seemingly normal kid, who happens to attend Brooklyn Visions Academy as a student during the day, while doubling up as the web-slinging Spider-Man after hours.

The book will center on a devastating earthquake, which rocks Puerto Rico, the birthplace of Miles’ mother, as he leaps into action, starting a fundraiser for the island. When a new student’s father goes missing, however, Spidey starts to dig into the disappearance in linking it to a mega corporation, which is also sponsoring his fundraiser!

This is not the first partnership between the two publishers, however, as Shuri: A Black Panther Novel, released back in May, from author Nic Stone. Avengers Assembly: Orientation is next up, in August, while the fourth book in the series will center on Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel.
