There’s a Reason Why Unicorns No Longer Exist in New Series, BY THE HORNS
July 27, 2020A woman bent on revenge against all horned creatures may ultimately have a change of heart in the new Scout Comics series, By The Horns, per creators Markisan Naso and Jason Muhr.
The series centers on Elodie, a unicorn hunter. She hates the species for trampling her husband, Shintaro, and killing him. She now ventures in killing all horned creatures she believes responsible for her husband’s death. Banned from her village of Wayfarer, she and her steed, a half-wolf, half-deer, named Sajen, tour the lands of Solothus. When four ancient wizards begin abducting unicorns and mythical creatures to extract their magic, Elodie teams with two unicorn prisoners, Zoso and Rigby, along with an all-seeing floating eyball, Evelyn, to halt the coven’s growth of power.
“I’m so happy By The Horns found a home at a vibrant, burgeoning publisher like Scout Comics,” said Naso. “It’s been phenomenal to watch the company grow over the last few years and release such a diverse line of amazing books. We’re excited that our oddball, fantasy revenge story gets to be a part of that.”
By The Horns #1 is currently expected to launch in the winter of 2020.
