Sundance: Searchlight Close to Landing Rights to THE NIGHT HOUSE
January 27, 2020Films are now being scooped up at the Sundance Film Festival as the most-recent film acquired is The Night House, a thriller starring Rebecca Hall, which has gone for a reported $12 million worldwide deal, to the newly-named Searchlight Pictures.
The film, from director David Bruckner, spotlights Beth (Hall) who, shortly after the death of her husband, starts to unravel a laundry list of mysterious and disturbing secrets surrounding him.
The rest of the core cast includes: Sarah Goldberg, Stacy Martin, Vondie Curtis-Hall and Evan Jonigkeit.
The film was sought by numerous theatrical distributors, as well as many streaming platforms, which all had deals on the table, before Searchlight broke the logjam with a lucrative deal for the WW rights.
