The most-popular professional gamer in the world, Tyler ‘Ninja‘ Blevins, has shocked the industry with the announcement he is moving away from Twitch and stream exclusively on Mixer.

Ninja held a mock press conference via his channel, which you can watch below, in announcing his big move, one that coincides with his upcoming Lollapalooza stream, which kicks off today, August 2.

“I know this may come as a shock to many of you, but as of today, I will be streaming exclusively on Mixer,” Ninja said. “I feel like this is a really good chance to get back in touch with my roots and really remember why I fell in love with streaming in the first place.”

Following his announcement, the Mixer mobile app jumped to No. 1 on the iOS app store, which tells the story of the fan-favorite influencer. Mixer, the Microsoft-owned platform, is still continuing to establish itself in the industry, one that Twitch has been at the forefront for quite a while.

He leaves behind over 15 million followers on Twitch, though has already built an audience of roughly 250,000 since making the jump.

No news yet on the specifics of the contract, but you can now stream Ninja via his official Mixer account, HERE.
