Director Joshua Michael Stern has enlisted both Robert De Niro and Shia LaBeouf to star in his upcoming film, After Exile, which is based on true events.

The film will follow Mike Delaney, played by LaBeouf, who is released from prison for killing an innocent man. He must now re-enter society and try to save his younger brother, in conjunction with his ex-criminal father, Ted Delaney (De Niro), who is also seeking redemption for a past life.

Anthony Thorne will pen the script and serve as producer. There’s no news yet on the rest of the cast, but the film is currently in pre-production, so keep an eye out for announcements to come soon.

LaBeouf just recently wrapped on The Tax Collector, while De Niro awaits the release of his Netflix film, The Irishman, also has an upcoming project, Killers of the Flowers Moon, both Martin Scorsese films.
