The cast continues to take shape for Jordan Peele‘s upcoming ‘spiritual sequel’ in the Candyman franchise, with six stars now locked in.

Tony Todd will reprise his role as Daniel Robitaille, aka the Candyman, following 1995’s Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh and Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999), in telling the story of a wrongfully-murdered and vengeful spirit, equipped with a hook for a hand, that is summoned to reality to punish the wicked. The film will serve as a direct sequel to 1992’s Candyman, returning the series to Chicago, where it all started.

The most-recent cast additions include Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Misfits) and Fear The Walking Dead‘s Colman Domingo, both of whom will join Todd, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman), Teyonah Parris (Mad Men) and Nadia Simms (The Land). Nia DaCosta, known for writing and leading Little Woods, will direct the film.

Peele (Get Out, Us) also serves as the executive producer of the modern-day reimagining of The Twilight Zone. He is currently filming Abruptio.

The fourth installment in the Candyman series is currently filming. Keep an eye out for more casting announcements. The film is currently slated for a June 12, 2020, release.
