A Young Boy Confronts His Nationalism in First Trailer for JOJO RABBIT

The first trailer for Taika Waititi‘s World War II Nazi satire, Jojo Rabbit, has released, spotlighting a boy’s goofy imaginary Führer.

The film follows a lonely German boy, Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis), whose world is turned upside-down when he discovers his single mother, played by Scarlett Johansson, is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Only he and his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Waititi), know the secret as Jojo must now come to terms with his blind nationalism.

Waititi not only wrote the screenplay for the film, but also directed and produced the project, whose cast also included Sam Rockwell, Rebel Wilson, Stephen Merchant, Archie Yates and Alfie Allen.

After watching the trailer, which is more heartfelt than it is comedic, all of us here at Galaxtic Pop are calling for a buddy comedy starring both Jojo (Davis) and Yorki (Yates).

Jojo Rabbit is set to march its way into theaters on Friday, October 18.
