The upcoming live-adaptation of the Playstation game, Uncharted, starring Tom Holland, has found its director in Travis Knight.

The game is based on on Nathan Drake (Holland), a treasure hunter, who continuously finds himself in precarious situations. The film will serve as a prequel to the games in telling the story of how Drake comes to befriend his excavating partner, Sully, as they grow into their roles as treasure hunters.

The insanely-popular series, which has sold over 41 million copies, worldwide, did garner a short film, starring Nathan Fillion in 2018 as well, leading most to assume that he would take on the role of Drake, but the studio opted to go younger in hopes of launching a franchise.

Knight, known for his 2018’s Transformers reboot, Bumblebee, is also set to direct, The Six Billion Dollar Man, while Holland, who most-recently saw the three-week breakup between Sony and Marvel end, will once again serve as the MCU Spider-Man in 2021.

Tabbing Knight as director is the first big news to come for this project in a while, so keep an eye out for our updates as they come available!

Uncharted is currently slated for a December, 2020, release in theaters.
