In what will be her first gig as an executive producer, Lucy Boynton, has been tabbed to portray the legendary musician and actor, Marianne Faithfull.

The story behind Faithfull is utterly fascinating! She was born into upper society. Her father was a British Intelligence Officer and her mother was a descendant of an Austrian-Hungarian Nobleman. She became an international singing sensation during the British Invasion, thanks in part, to her critically-acclaimed hit, As Tears Go By. Per her relationship with The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, she heavily influenced two of the band’s most-popular songs, You Can’t Always Get What You Want and Wild Horses. In being overshadowed by Jagger and the Stones’ success, she fell into a period where she developed a drug problem, leaving her not only anorexic, but homeless for a spell. It all took a toll on her voice as well, but critics and historians both agree, it helped her in better conveying emotion in the songs she wrote, via her comeback album, Broken English. She was founded at the age of 16, while her career has spanned 50+ years.

Boynton previously starred as Mary Austin, the wife of Freddie Mercury, played by Rami Malek, in Bohemian Rhapsody. You can catch her currently on the Netflix series, The Politician, of which she appears as Astrid Sloan, in eight episodes of the pilot season.

No news yet on when production begins, but stay tuned to Galaxtic Pop for updates!
