Robert Duvall and Martin Sheen Join Cast for 12 MIGHTY ORPHANS

Two acting legends in Robert Duvall and Martin Sheen have been selected to star in the Texas football drama, 12 Mighty Orphans, per director Ty Roberts.

The film, which also stars Vinessa Shaw, Luke Wilson, Carlson Young and Wayne Knight, among others, centers on legendary coach Rusty Russell (Wilson). It takes place at an orphanage in Fort Worth, an institute which turns 12 scrawny underdog castoffs into a team of fierce warriors that left opponents battered and bewildered. Despite being outweighed by at least 30-pounds per player, they became one of the toughest teams in the state. At a time when the country was enduring a Great Depression, the team offered fresh hope and big dreams in overcoming obstacles.

Filming is currently underway and is expected to wrap around Thanksgiving. No release date or platform have been announced.
