November 14, 2019 Off By Michael Stagno

It’s time for the third installment in the Galaxtic Pop Four-For-Four (4F4) series, with the Thanksgiving Edition! As we gear up to eat lots of food, spend time with family and friends, consider gathering everyone in front of the boob tube and catch these holiday B-Horror films.

Again, as a refresher, in this series, we will be highlighting four films, which all have four things in common, but with an underlying theme, they all deserve your attention!

That said, all four of these films center on one killer (#1), they all serve as slashers as the killers utilize stabby weapons, yep, even the demonic turkey (#2), all of the death scenes in each film are so unbelievably over-the-top (#3) and, the most-obvious, they’re all Thanksgiving-themed (#4)!

1.) ThanksKilling (2009)

This one is available on numerous platforms, including Tubi and Prime Video. The premise is pretty simple as a homicidal turkey picks off college kids, one-by-one, during Thanksgiving break. The film also saw a sequel, ThanksKilling 3 (2012), which returns the demonic turkey, who is hoping to find the fictional copy of the never-released and final copy of, ThanksKilling 2. Jordan Downey provides the voice of the killer, Turkie.

2.) Pilgrim (2019)

This film serves as the second release in the Into the Dark series, which streams exclusively on Hulu. The film follows pilgrim re-enactors to produce an authentic first Thanksgiving experience for families and friends. However, things take an unexpected turn when the actors refuse to break character. It stars Reign Edwards, Kerr Smith, Peter Giles, Antonio Raul Corbo and Courtney Henggeler.

3.) Home Sweet Home (1981)

This one centers on an escaped mental patient (Jake Steinfeld), who steals a station wagon and makes his way to the Bradleys’ Thanksgiving celebration, where he plans to make the family a little less thankful. It also stars Vinessa Shaw and Peter de Paula. You can actually catch the entire film on YouTube for free, HERE.

4.) Blood Rage (1987)

The film follows brothers Todd and Terry, both played by Mark Soper. As kids, Todd is institutionalized for a murder while his twin goes free. On Thanksgiving day, 10 years later, Todd escapes and a killing spree begins in his neighborhood once again. It also stars Louise Lasser and Julie Gordon. You can catch this title right now on Prime Video.

What do you think, are there any other Thanksgiving horror flicks you would have liked to have seen make this list? What horror films do you like to catch every year in November? Let us know in the comments.
