Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell Both Cast for Major Roles in THE BATMAN

Two more additions have been made to the already star-studded cast of The Batman with Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell.

Serkis will take on the iconic role of Bruce Wayne’s longtime butler and sole legal guardian, Alfred Pennyworth, while Farrell will play criminal mastermind, Oswald Cobblepot, aka Penguin.

The film’s plot is still being held under wraps, but director Matt Reeves has definitely been taking bits out of the Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight playbook, per the castings and possible rumor that the film will be an adaptation of the DC Comics original graphic novel, Batman: The Long Halloween.

Production for The Batman is slated to begin in early 2020. The film is currently tabbed to drop in theaters on June 25, 2021.
