New SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Trailer Offers First-Look at Sonic Redesign

After backlash of the main character’s seemingly-frightening live-adaptation portrayal, Sonic the Hedgehog, has released another trailer and, much to the approval of fans, the new version of Sonic is awesome!

The film is based on the blockbuster video game franchise, from Sega Entertainment, of the same name, Sonic the Hedgehog, in telling the story of the world’s fastest hedgehog as he embraces his new home of Earth. Sonic and his new friend, Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), team to defend the planet against the evil genius, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey, who is bent on world domination.

Voicing Sonic is Ben Schwartz, while the film also stars Tika Sumpter and Neal McDonough, as Major Bennington.

No news yet as to whether other characters from the franchise will be appearing in the film, but here’s to hoping we see Tails or Knuckles!

Sonic the Hedgehog releases in theaters on Valentine’s Day in 2020.
