Both Alec Baldwin and Bella Thorne are set to join Malin Akerman in the upcoming female-centered fight club film, from director Paul Leyden, Chick Fight.

The story spotlights Anna (Akerman), who still has not reconciled with the death of her mother. She discovers that her supportive father is gay and then accidentally burns down her coffee shop, which is uninsured. Knowing she needs to get out of a funk, her best friend takes her on an all-women underground fight club. Thorne will play Olivia, the club’s perfect and most-brutally efficient fighter, who becomes a rival in- and out of the ring to Anna. Baldwin will serve as Jack Murphy, a reclusive trainer who helps Anna rediscover herself and her inner strength in primal ways.

Despite this upcoming film, Ackerman has two other projects lined up for 2020, including The Sleepover and Friendsgiving.

Baldwin has a few upcoming television projects, but three films as well in, Lamborghini: The Legend, Blue Before Blood and Pixie.

Thorne garnered an award this year for her directorial debut, Her & Him, and also has a spot on Paradise City, which is post-production. Other than those, she also has numerous upcoming films in the works, including a reprisal of her role as Allison in The Babysitter 2.

Production on Chick Fight begins in January of 2020.
