Filmmaker Gary Dauberman has landed his second feature directing gig, in conjunction with producer James Wan, in adapting ‘Salems Lot.

The film will be a reimagining of the 1979 made-for-television special, Salem’s Lot. The story centers on a novelist, Ben Mears, and young horror fan, who both attempt to save a small New England town, Jerusalem’s Lot, which has been invaded by vampires. The limited series also saw a feature film sequel adapted in 1987 in, A Return to Salem’s Lot. Ultimately, it is all based on the Stephen King novel, Jerusalem’s Lot, which was published in 1975.

Dauberman made his directorial debut last year with Annabelle Comes Home, which he also wrote. He’s also known for having written many other fan-favorite horror films like, IT (2017), IT: Chapter Two (2019) and The Nun (2018). He’s currently linked to an upcoming television series, The Terrestrial.
