Hulu Lands THE ORVILLE Exclusively For Upcoming Third Season

The third season of The Orville has waved goodbye to Fox and has set its coordinates for Hulu, where it will now become an original series on the streaming service.

That’s right, Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, Ted) is bringing his Star Trek-inspired comedy series to streaming.

The Orville has been a labor of love for me, and there are two companies which have supported that vision in a big way: 20th Century Fox Television, where I’ve had a deal since the start of my career, and FOX Broadcasting Company, now FOX Entertainment, which has been my broadcast home for over 20 years,” said MacFarlane. “And to my new friends at Hulu, I look forward to our new partnership exploring the galaxy together.”

The series stars MacFarlane, as Cap. Ed Mercer, alongside shipmates Adrianne Palicki, Scott Grimes, Penny Johnson Jerald, Peter Macon, J. Lee and Mark Jackson, among others, and takes place 400 years in the future and follows an exploratory spaceship and its intergalactic challenges.

The third season will debut on Hulu in late 2020.
