Amazon’s THE WHEEL OF TIME Announces Five Other Cast Regulars
August 18, 2019 Off By Michael StagnoThe upcoming show on Amazon Prime, The Wheel of Time, which is based on the 14-novel fantasy series by Robert Jordan, has unveiled the rest of its cast.
Joining the already-announced Rosamund Pike, who will play lead protagonist, Moiraine, will be Madeleine Madden (Egwene Al’Vere), Marcus Rutherford (Perrin Aybara), Barney Harris (Mat Cauthon), Zoë Robins (Nynaeve) and Josha Stradowski, as Rand Al’Thor.
The fan-favorite fantasy series, which has sold over 90 million books worldwide, focuses on an all-female organization called, Aes Sedai, whose members can access magic. The women set out on a world-spanning journey to fulfill a prophecy to become the ‘Dragon Reborn’, which will either save the world or destroy all of humanity.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will executive producer the series, while Uta Briesewitz (Westworld, Stranger Things) will direct at least the first two episodes.
The project is slated for a 2021 release, so keep an eye out for other casting news and an announcement as to when production will begin as well.
