The Joyce Carol Oates Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Blonde, which will be adapted for Netflix, via director Andrew Dominik, has rounded out its cast as production has begun.

The film, which will star Ana de Armas as Norma Jeane, is a bold reimagining of the private life of the world’s first- and most-famous sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe, as her private life is dissected through the modern lens of celebrity culture in the 1950s and 1960s.

The producers list includes Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner, while the rest of the cast will include: Adrien Brody, as the playwright, Bobby Cannavale, as Joe DiMaggio, Caspar Phillipson, as The President, Julianne Nicholson, Lily Fisher, as the young Norma Jeane, Evan Williams, Xavier Samuel, Toby Huss, Sara Paxton and David Warshofksy.

The biographical drama has begun principal photography and is currently slated for a 2020 release on the streaming service.
