A Single Mother Raises a Superpowered Son in First Trailer for RAISING DION

In continuing its trend of adapting graphic novels for streaming, Netflix has released the epic first trailer for Raising Dion.

The 9-episode pilot season follows a widowed single mother, Nicole Warren (Alisha Wainwright), who loses her husband, Mark Warren, played by Michael B. Jordan, discovers that her son, Dion Warren (Ja’Siah Young), has superpowers and tries to figure out how to raise him safely and responsibly, all while he struggles to comprehend his abilities. Warren, along with neighbor and aspiring filmmaker, Pat (Jason Ritter), record his abilities, which draws unwarranted attention by those wishing to take her son and study him.

The series, in which Jordan executive produced, is based on the original graphic novel, Raising Dion, from creators, Dennis Liu and Jason Piperberg. Liu created the upcoming series with Carol Barbee.

The inaugural season of Raising Dion launches on Netflix on October 4, 2019.
