Amazon/Skybound Announce SUPER DINOSAUR Animated Series and Toy Line

The fan-favorite Skybound/Image Comics graphic novel, Super Dinosaur, will be adapted as an animated series at Amazon Prime.

The comic book series, which was created by Robert Kirkman and Jason Howard, follows the 10-year-old Derek Dynamo and his 9-foot-tall buddy, Super Dinosaur. The two challenge the Evil Max Maximus, who wants to make his way to inner-Earth to draw a powerful mineral, DynOre, which can be used to control the dinosaurs that live there. The fate of the world rest on the shoulders of a boy and his dino-friend.

“Jason and I created Super Dinosaur as something all kids would enjoy as much as our own kids do,” said Kirkman. “In doing so, we were able to craft a world as immersive and engaging as the world of The Walking Dead … but, for kids! Our partners at Spin Master have helped Skybound prepare this world for a mass-audience and I’m so happy this series has landed at Amazon, where I know it will thrive.”

Season 1 of Super Dinosaur will consist of 13, 30-minute episodes, of which, all will be available on its launch day, Sunday, October 6.

Also announced is an exclusive line of Super Dinosaur action figures, which will only be available this fall on both Amazon Prime and Toys ‘R Us (Canada).
