Netflix Finalizes Cast for A BABYSITTER’S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING

The popular Joe Ballarini novel series will get a live-action adaptation at Netflix, via director Rachel Talalay and producer Ivan Reitman.

The film will be based on Ballarini’s first book, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, in which a first-time babysitter, Kelly Ferguson, is charged with kidnapping by the Boogeyman. She then discovers a secret society of other brave babysitters who protect children against a world of monsters that they all must fight to save their respective children.

The novels spawned two other sequels as well, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Beasts & Geeks and A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Escape From Sunshine Island. It is presumed the adaptation will also result in a three-film franchise.

The cast includes Tamara Smart, Oona Laurence, Alessio Scalzotto, Indya Moore, Tom Felton and Ian Ho.

The film is currently in pre-production, but no release date has been set.
