SEINFELD Leaving Hulu, to Stream Exclusively on Netflix in 2021
September 16, 2019All nine seasons and 180 episodes of Seinfeld are bound for Netflix and saying goodbye to Hulu, come 2021, as part of a new and exclusive partnership, reportedly worth more than $500 million.
The streaming giant, which already holds rights to Jerry Seinfeld‘s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, will now also house Jerry, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander) and Kramer (Michael Richards) in the series that follows the continuing misadventures of four neurotic New York City friends, Seinfeld.
“Seinfeld is the television comedy that all television comedy is measured against,” said Ted Sarandos, a Netflix executive. “It is as fresh and funny as ever and will be available to the world in 4K for the first time.”
The series, which was created by Seinfeld and Larry David, still holds as much popularity today as it did during 1989-1998. David went on to launch his own series in 2000, Curb Your Enthusiasm, which holds similarities to Seinfeld, but with cursing, because, you know, it’s HBO, and is still ongoing.
