Records are falling at AMC‘s Shudder with its recent reboot of the Creepshow television anthology series, courtesy of Greg Nicotero.

Since its launch on September 26, 2019, 54-percent of all members on the streaming service’s direct-to-consumer platforms have watched an episode of the series, according to Shudder and GM Craig Engler.

Shudder has also stated that the first episode saw more minutes streamed in its opening weekend (Sep. 26-29, 2019) than any other title in the service’s history. The first week of the series also set a new record in total minutes streamed, while also earning a spike in new members to it as well.

The series is based on the 1982 short film series, of the same name, Creepshow, which was constructed by horror masters George A. Romero and Stephen King. It has since garnered two sequels, Creepshow 2 (1987) and the direct-to-video, Creepshow 3 (2006).

Creepshow is a breakout series that’s hit the trifecta for streaming services: Shudder members love it, critics love it and it’s driving record numbers of new subscribers,” said Engler. “Greg Nicotero and his team have delivered an amazing show that honors the original movie by George A. Romero and Stephen King, while forging an identity that’s uniquely its own.”

New episodes of Creepshow currently stream on a weekly format and hit Shudder every Thursday.
