SOUTH PARK to Get Big Nine-Figure Deal in Ongoing Streaming Rights War

The pockets of South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Viacom Inc., the housing company which runs the show and produces its games and merchandise, are about to get a lot more heavy, as a new lucrative deal for streaming rights to the animated series is currently up to a dozen bidders.

The controversial animated series, which is projected to pull in roughly $450-500 million, runs on Comedy Central, but also currently streams on Hulu, which paid $192 million for rights back in 2015.

Season 23 is currently running, while the series just aired its landmark 300th episode as well, which marks it as the longest-running TV series in U.S. history. It was also recently announced that it was also renewed for at least another three seasons.

Pretty good for a show that started off as a mock-Christmas card that was passed around while Parker and Stone were students at the University of Colorado!
