The U.S., Canadian and Latin American rights to A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon have been acquired by Netflix, which has eyes set for a debut on the streaming service next year.

The film picks up where an alien named Lu-La (voiced by Amalia Vitale) has crash-landed near Mossy Bottom Farm. The female alien’s magical powers and galactic-sized burps soon have Shaun the Sheep (Justin Fletcher) and his flock enchanted. When Shaun takes his new extraterrestrial friend on the road to find her ship, little does he know, that a sinister alien-hunting agency is on their trail. Shaun and the flock must now avert Farmageddon before it’s too late!

Mark Burton and Jon Brown both penned the film, while Richard Phelan and Will Becher are directing.

The partnership between Netflix, STUDIOCANAL and Aardman Animation will pair the upcoming film with a slate of beloved titles already on the streaming service like, Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Flushed Away.

A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon debuts on Netflix in early 2020.
